And we have another format breaking finale! Props to Hannah Ann for her well rehearsed yet powerful breakup monologue; this is the most likeable she’s been all season. Also props to Madison for standing up to Peter’s helicopter mom. I think Peter realized his best play here was to admit he made “101 mistakes as the Bachelor” and that he’s “far from perfect”, so I was ok with his performance at the live show. I still say Peter and Hannah B are perfect for eachother – time will tell!
I’d like to say Barb is the biggest loser of this season, but she currently has 98K Instagram followers. She’s clearly not here for the #rightreasons. But I think most of us can agree that being combative on live television towards your son who you supposedly love more than anything is totally worth the fame.
Notes on scoring:
- Sincere apologies for not getting the points for the rose ceremony during Women Tell All out to you last week. This week’s spreadsheet and the totals below include points for the last 3 episodes
- I agonized on whether or not to award the 150 points to Madison for “Pulling a Mesnick (Coming in 2nd, then being chosen by the Bachelor(ette) after 1st place contestant is dumped)“. It’s pretty unclear whether or not Peter “chose” Madison after dumping Hannah Ann. When Chis asked if they were going to give this thing a real shot, Peter’s response was non-convincing. I think this highlights an opportunity to remove some of the ambiguity in the verbiage of the point categories, which I’ll work on for next season. I did award Madison the 150 points. However, polling shows that opions are very mixed on this one, so just subtract 150 points from Madison if you don’t want to count it
- I listened over and over to the Hannah Ann/Peter proposal scene and though she did say “I get to love you forever”, she never directly expressed love to Peter per the rigid guidelines of my love categories so no points here. Similarly, Peter said many times during the live show that he loves Madison, but he never said it directly to Madison, so not counting it.
It’s been such an entertaining season! Thanks for following along with me and helping me to feel that the excessive analysis I do on this show isn’t for nothing. Check back in a couple of months for bachelorette points. I’m considering starting a mailing list so I can alert you when the points have been posted each week. This way you don’t have to check the site 10 times a day while you wait. Stay on the lookout for that.
